The Uncontacted Tribe of the Brazilian Rainforest

This is the first footage of one of the very few uncontacted tribes left in the world. This footage was taken in order to stop the development of an oil plant(go figure).

Nobody believed that these people even existed until these shots were taken.

In light of this footage, it's nice to know that Conoco-Phillips decided not to drill for oil right where these people live. I guess they decided that killing one of the last uncontacted native tribes of the world isn't good karma.

Sorry it's been so long. I have enrolled back in school as well as maintaining a full time job on top of having a family. I will try to start posting more now that I'm in the flow of going back to college.

Thank you for staying on top and giving me that little nudge I need:-)

I think I do one right now.

Hello,

My name is Christina Chauvenet and I am writing from Survival International. I just wanted to say thanks for posting the news about the uncontacted tribe, and wondered if you would be interested in getting our regular press releases?(about 2/week). If so, or if you have any questions, just drop me a line; cc@survivalinternational.org. Thanks again for your support!
